Who Am I?
I’m Marilyn Botta, and my passion is photography. My original interest was oil painting and drawing and I attended The High School of Art and Design. However I was always interested in photography and took loads of photos of my children using film. I began to tote my camera wherever I went and became known as the “camera lady.” I had been taking photos for many years but this took a back seat to my corporate job in Manhattan for many years. Six years ago I decided I needed to get back to doing what I love. I bought a digital SLR and everything took off. Since that time I have upgraded equipment and now do lots of studio work. My specialties are Still Life photography, Flower photography, and Portraiture; refer to the corresponding tabs to see these photos. But I also love going to interesting locales and doing street photography–check out some of these under the Landscapes tab. I have many other beautiful Landscapes as well. I also love taking family photos, both in the studio, on location in people’s homes, and outside in nature. I think that is where I shine because I connect with people.
