Photo shoot of friend

January 31, 2020 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I did a photos shoot of my friend, Becky. She came to my studio with a number of different outfits. She has such a unique style and loves to dress up, so it wasn’t a stretch when she posed in her cute clothes. I didn’t even have to pose her–she was just a natural. It was a wonderful photoshoot and Becky was very pleased with the results.

Photo Shoot at Phinizy Swamp

November 20, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I did a photo shoot at Phinizy Swamp on November 2nd with four lovely ladies. We started the shoot at about 4;30, and since it was Eastern Standard Time, it started to get dark about 5pm. By that time the sun cast that lovely golden color that create that sought after glow that photographers love. They were great subjects and we had a great time. I used my strobe light, which was carried around wherever we went.

Family Photo Shoot

November 12, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to Brick Pond Park, in North Augusta, to do a photo shoot of a lovely family. I used my AD200 strobe and Flashpoint R2 Transmitter. This family consisted of 4 children, ages 14, 7, 4, and under one year. It was a bit challenging due to the sun still being high in the sky and bright, even at 4 pm. This was still daylight savings time. Luckily, the baby was good most of the time and that helped. We stopped at about 5:30 because the children were tired, had to use the bathroom, and were pretty much done. But I got many great shots along the way. It was a good experience.

Wet Glass Portraits

September 24, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I did some experimenting by taking my own portrait using the self-timer in the studio with strobe lights. I then edited the photos using Light Room, Photoshop, and NIK. I then applied a texture called Wet Glass on top and edited the image using the Blend Modes (Screen) in PS with lots of manipulation of the layer. Finally, I used NIK – Brilliance and Warmth, and NIK Center luminosity. After adjusting everything, here they are. The first one is me “trapped” behind wet glass. The next one is somewhere maybe in the shower trapped too.

I was asked to do some head shots for a friend. He will then present these to an agency. I took these at my studio. He was a very cooperative subject.

Heather and John

I went out to Evans to do a photo shoot. It was originally going to be an outdoor shoot, but it had been stormy all that week and that Saturday was equally bad weather. We decided to do the shoot inside their home. It was a very enjoyable experience and we went all over the house to get lots of different locations. They were very cooperative and seemed to be having a good time.

Manhattan 2019

May 30, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went up to New Jersey to see my grandchildren and my son. On Wednesday I decided to take the NJ Transit train into Manhattan (Penn Station) to take some street photography. There are so many photo opportunities in Manhattan, especially in the 34th Street area, around Penn Station. I spent about 1 and half hours taking photos of unsuspecting people. A few people, especially a street vendor, objected but he let me go. I enjoyed soaking in the atmosphere and reminiscing about when I used to be one of those people, rushing around, and glad I am not that person now. It was still loads of fun and I think I got lots of great shots.

Flappers – Roaring Twenties

The Chicks that Click held a Roaring Twenties themed photo shoot using two twin models dressed as flappers. We also had a vintage car for them to pose with. The flappers were very photogenic and cooperative.

Red Roses in Studio

May 8, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I found some beautiful red roses and decided to play with them in the studio. Some are just with a white background, and some I added a texture for color. I put the roses into the tea cup for a different effect. I really liked the results.
