Harley Davidson Luau

August 11, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I was invited to attend the Harley Davidson Luau, Friday, August 3rd 2018. It was a fun time and I got a chance to take photos of the festivities, including Hawaiian dancers, the patrons, and of course the real stars–the motorcycles. They roasted a whole hog in the ground and with the music, a wonderful time was had by all. There was a raffle as well for a golf cart, which I didn’t win, but I enjoyed it nevertheless–especially taking the photos.

Downtown Augusta 2018

August 11, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I decided to venture downtown to Broad Street–a spot I usually don’t go to. I had been to The New Moon Cafe a few days before without my camera, but the ambiance and color of that street intrigued me. It is a very different atmosphere–almost like Greenwich Village in NYC–than uptown where everything is pretty much homogenous.

Jersey Shore 2018

July 3, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to New Jersey for a very complex surgery in May 2018. I decided to take my camera just in case I had a chance to take some photos. The surgery was scheduled for May 16th, so on May 15th, on a very unseasonably warm day, we decided to head down to the Jersey Shore. The doctor’s office was near the Shore and the hospital itself was the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Here are the photos I took on that beautiful warm day before surgery.

VBS 2018

June 25, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I took the photos for the VBS 2018. It was a lot of work but fun. I tried to capture the spirit of the event by getting as many group shots of all the participants

as I could.

Wedding Doug and Deniss

April 13, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I photographed a wedding with two other photographers. Two did primarily videos and I did all the still shots. I took about 680 photos but ended up using about 115. They were a lovely couple that met on Match.com. They were about to give up but decided to try one more time. The bride’s family came from Mexico for the wedding, but the food was good old fashioned, down home BBQ. The ceremony was outdoors and we were not sure if the weather would hold or not, but it did. All week it called for rain but the wedding day arrived and there was no rain. Here are just a few highlights.

Studio Portraits

April 13, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I asked a friend to act as my model for some studio portraits. She graciously accepted and proved to be a very good model who posed in many different angles. She also changed clothes for a number of shoots. It was a fun day.

It was a beautiful night in February, very unseasonably warm. So, I grabbed my tripod and camera, with the intention of taking some shots of the Regal Cinema at night.

Redcliffe Plantation

March 16, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to Redcliffe Plantation in South Carolina, with my friend Joyce, who was my model. It was a nice day in January 2017. I took some landscapes as well as a couple of memorable portraits of Joyce, who was very cooperative.

Supermoon 2018

February 9, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

Supermoon 2018 – My friend Fran called me to ask me to go with her to Savannah Rapids early in the morning of the lunar eclipse to capture the beautiful large, bright, moon  I arrived at her house at 5 am with my camera and tripod. I didn’t think it was going to be so cold but my car registered in the 20s. I was not dressed for the cold weather and had no hat or gloves (couldn’t because I needed my hands to hold tripod and 150-600 long lens). I captured some amazing images later in the morning when there were some semblances of light around the moon. Almost had frostbite on my hands, but luckily it all worked out and here are a couple of the best shots.
