Redcliffe Plantation

March 16, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to Redcliffe Plantation in South Carolina, with my friend Joyce, who was my model. It was a nice day in January 2017. I took some landscapes as well as a couple of memorable portraits of Joyce, who was very cooperative.

Supermoon 2018

February 9, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

Supermoon 2018 – My friend Fran called me to ask me to go with her to Savannah Rapids early in the morning of the lunar eclipse to capture the beautiful large, bright, moon  I arrived at her house at 5 am with my camera and tripod. I didn’t think it was going to be so cold but my car registered in the 20s. I was not dressed for the cold weather and had no hat or gloves (couldn’t because I needed my hands to hold tripod and 150-600 long lens). I captured some amazing images later in the morning when there were some semblances of light around the moon. Almost had frostbite on my hands, but luckily it all worked out and here are a couple of the best shots.

Self Portraits

January 7, 2018 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I decided to take some self-portraits in my home studio using strobe lights. I set the camera on a tripod, fixed the lighting, and used the shutter release. It was not easy getting myself at the right height, but finally, success.

Phinizy Swamp 2017

December 31, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I met my friend Pat the other day at Phinizy Swamp. She came with her hubby and her grandson, Gabriel. I didn’t think there would be any new pictures to take, since I have been there numerous times, but there is always a new take on a picture. I found myself taking pictures of things I hadn’t done before, or maybe the same thing, but using a different angle to create something original. It’s very nice to visit the same place a few times during the year to get a different perspective.

Savannah Rapids

December 15, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to Savannah Rapids in late November to take some pictures of the Fall foliage. Around here (Augusta, GA) it is a rarity to find actual foliage but it was there. The Fall colors are never what they would be up North, but this day I got some nice shots.

Brick Pond at Dusk

December 2, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went to Brick Pond Park in N. Augusta one Saturday at dusk. Pictures were all hand-held (probably should’ve used a tripod) but they came out nice anyway. The Fall foliage was visible finally (at the end of November). It was so peaceful and beautiful. The sunset was gorgeous, as evidence by the pictures.

Train Depot in Aiken

November 3, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

The Chicks the Click Photography group arranged for a vintage Aiken train depot photo shoot. The models were beautifully dressed in vintage clothes from the early 1900s. Some of the gorgeous outfits were actually made by the talented ladies of this group. The models were incredible in their patience–that goes even for the younger children. What a fun day. Here are some of the shots.

Around Town

October 18, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

The pictures here were all taken around the Augusta area, usually around sunset. I find the best time to take these types of images is just at dusk.

Model Shoot

October 18, 2017 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

My photo group (Chicks That Click) went to one of the members’ home for a photo shoot of her property. She had several non-professional models posing for us in various places. The models were very accommodating and allowed us to take lots and lots of pictures. I hope you enjoy these pictures of these lovely models.
