Clematis Blue Light

April 28, 2025 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I went outside my house after it rained and noticed the beautiful droplets of water on this Clematis Blue Light flower. I grabbed my macro lens and shot this image. The violet petals surrounding the center of this flower, highlighted by droplets of water gently resting on its surface accentuate the natural beauty and complexity of this blossom. This beauty blooms each year at this time.

Pink Lilies and Pears

July 21, 2024 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I have always loved lilies, the way the buds keep blooming for days. I decided to highlight pink lilies by placing them in a blue ceramic jug. To enhance the beauty of the flowers, I surrounded them with a brown and beige lit candle, and a white and black ceramic vase. I felt that this composition would be enhanced by two green pears. I placed the candle on a black iron ornate candle holder. My creation was photographed against a white background. I added a texture with an orange hue to enhance the beauty of this unique still life.

Portraits of Beth

February 9, 2023 by Marilyn Botta

On a Sunday in February I had a photo shoot with Beth. I purchased two very pretty dresses for her to wear for the portraits and the fit was perfect. I think the dresses offset her red hair. Here are four of the best ones. Two are the same image but both are edited differently.

Pink Flowers and Reflections

April 3, 2019 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I have an endless fascination with flowers, particularly pink ones. My friend Fran had these gorgeous pink flowers blooming right on a bush in her back yard back in late February. She gave me permission to cut a few off the bush. In the studio I placed the flower against a black reflective surface and used my strobes. The other shots were lilies in my studio in March 2019, again on a black reflective surface. The flowers in the saucer were on a white background so I added a texture to punch things up.

Guitar and pink lilies

December 27, 2016 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

I found my guitar in the closet, in the back, and felt so sad that I abandoned it years ago. Life became life and I got involved with other endeavors, such as photography. But I found another use for my poor, lonely, guitar–namely putting pink lilies on the strings and, voila, it has been brought to life again. Here are my flowers and guitar photos.

Flowers in my Studio

I have been experimenting with using studio lights to take pictures of flowers. Here are some Mother’s day flowers as well as some I bought. I like the effect.

Peach Blossoms

April 1, 2016 by Marilyn Botta Leave a Comment

The peach blossoms are now blooming and soon those delectable sweet fruits will be available. So, one of the member of the Chicks that Click photo group invited us to her orchard to take photos of the gorgeous blossoms that are so very beautiful. What a treat it was to get shots of those lovely blooms that will be gone shortly.
